Yep, feeling it too. Been in engineering for 5 years and the goalposts keep moving. We were told one thing about the roadmap, then it completely changed last week with no explanation. Leadership is definitely keeping us in the dark. It's hard to focus on my work when I'm worried about paying the bills. Start updating your resume just in case. Knowledge is power, and it's better to be prepared than caught off guard.
Honestly, 'restructuring' is practically eBay's middle name. They've been doing this every few years since I started back in 2010. It's disruptive and annoying, but usually ends up affecting less people than you think. Unless you're in a department that's underperforming or overlaps with a recent acquisition, you're probably fine. Try not to let the rumor mill get to you. Focus on doing good work, and that's the best job security you can have.
