eBay Layoffs - What's Going On?

Just saw the news about another 639 people laid off on June 17th. This is getting ridiculous. Feels like every few months there's another wave. I'm still here, somehow, but the vibe is just... off. Everyone's walking on eggshells, wondering who's next. It's hard to stay motivated when you see so many colleagues, people you've worked with for years, just getting the boot. Management keeps talking about 'streamlining' and 'efficiency,' but it feels more like just cutting headcount to make the numbers look good for the next quarter. Anyone else feel this way? Are you looking, or just hoping to survive the next round? I'm starting to update my resume again, just in case.

This is really tough to read. It's completely understandable that the atmosphere feels tense and demotivating when layoffs become so frequent. The 'streamlining' buzzwords can feel hollow when you're the one seeing friends and colleagues lose their jobs. Hopefully, for those still there, things can stabilize soon, but the current situation sounds incredibly draining.

Heard rumblings about this, and it's a shame to see it confirmed. The constant uncertainty must be brutal for morale. It's hard to focus on your work when you're worried about your own job security, let alone seeing others impacted. Wishing everyone still at eBay the best through this challenging period.
