Is this pattern of layoffs sustainable for eBay?

Between this latest round of 639 and the previous ones, it feels like a significant portion of the workforce has been impacted over the last year or two. I understand the need for efficiency and adapting to market changes, but these constant reductions make it hard to feel secure, even if your role isn't directly on the chopping block. How is this impacting morale and productivity for those of us who remain? Are we expected to pick up the slack indefinitely? Is this a sign of deeper issues within the company's strategy or financial health, or is it just standard industry churn? Curious to hear others' perspectives on the long-term implications of this layoff cadence.

It's definitely concerning. The feeling of instability can't be good for anyone's motivation. When you're worried about your job security, it's hard to focus on doing your best work, let alone taking on extra tasks. Hopefully, the company has a clear plan for how this restructuring will benefit everyone in the long run and isn't just about cutting costs without a solid strategy.

I agree, the constant news of layoffs is unsettling. It makes you wonder about the future direction of the company. While efficiency is important, the human element can't be ignored. Burnout is a real risk when remaining employees are expected to absorb the workload. It would be beneficial to hear more transparency about how these changes are intended to improve operations and support the remaining team.
