Hey everyone, I know things have been a little tense lately. Just trying to be proactive and understand what the typical severance package looks like at eBay, should the unthinkable happen. I'm in engineering, been here for 4 years. Trying to figure out how many weeks of pay per year of service, benefits continuation, etc. Any insight is greatly appreciated! Also, are there any resources anyone recommends for resume writing/interview prep if things go south?

Sorry to hear you're stressed about this. While I can't give specific eBay severance details (policies change, and it depends on your level), generally, tech companies offer around 2 weeks per year of service, plus accrued vacation time. Benefits continuation (like health insurance) varies but is usually offered for a limited time under COBRA. Start polishing that resume NOW! Honestly, severance is never a sure thing, and the amounts can really vary based on performance, role, and the specific circumstances of any layoff. Don't count your chickens before they hatch! Instead of focusing solely on severance, prioritize making yourself indispensable and expanding your network *within* the company. Document your accomplishments and contributions. This puts you in a stronger position whether you stay or eventually move on. Good luck!
