What kind of severance package can we expect if layoffs happen?

Just trying to be prepared. I've been hearing more and more rumors about potential layoffs at eBay. Has anyone been through this before at eBay or another similar company? What kind of severance package is typical? Is it based on tenure? What about benefits? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Knowing what to expect would at least help me sleep better at night.

I went through a layoff at a similar tech company a few years back. Severance was two weeks' pay per year of service, plus they paid out accrued vacation time. Benefits were extended for a month or two, but that varied based on individual plans. Definitely start updating your resume and networking now, just in case. It's always better to be proactive.

Heard those rumors too. Honestly, eBay hasn't been the same since the split. Layoffs wouldn't surprise me, but predicting the severance is tough. Companies often change these things depending on the financial situation. Don't get your hopes up for anything extravagant; plan conservatively. It's probably best to focus on what you *can* control, like having an emergency fund ready.
