Is anyone else feeling super anxious about potential layoffs?

I've been at Elastic for almost 4 years now, on the Observability team as a Senior Engineer. Lately, things have felt...off. There's been a noticeable slowdown in hiring, and a lot of talk about 'restructuring' during our team meetings. I know the whole tech industry is kind of shaky right now, but Elastic always seemed more stable. Anyone else getting bad vibes? Or am I just being paranoid? I'm really worried about my mortgage, honestly. I've started discreetly updating my resume, just in case.

Totally get where you're coming from. Been at Elastic (Security team) a little longer than you, and I've seen this movie before. "Restructuring" is usually code for something unpleasant. Smart to update the resume; can't hurt to be prepared. Don't panic yet, but keep your eyes open and network internally. Maybe try to get a feel for where the axe might fall.

Honestly, I think you might be overreacting. Every company goes through periods of slower growth and internal adjustments. Four years is a good run; you know how Elastic operates. Maybe the team is just prepping for some new tech or a strategic shift? I wouldn't jump to conclusions about layoffs based on 'vibes' alone. But doing leetcode a little bit every day isn't a bad idea, regardless.
