Metairie office cuts - what's the word?

Just saw the WARN notice for the Metairie location hitting 216 people right before the end of the year. Absolute gut punch for those teams. I’m in a different region but the vibe here is already incredibly tense. Management keeps preaching 'efficiency' and 'transformation' during these town halls, but we all know that’s just corporate speak for headcount reduction. Is there any visibility on if these cuts are concentrated in a specific department, or is it another broad sweep across the board? I feel like we are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. My manager has been acting weird all week, avoiding eye contact, and the calendar invites for 'syncs' are becoming a daily occurrence. If you were part of this group, please share what the severance package looks like. Are they at least being generous, or is it the bare minimum? Stay safe out there everyone.

It is brutal to see these numbers right before the holidays. From what I’ve heard internally, the layoffs in Metairie are heavily concentrated in the claims processing and clinical support departments, but the 'efficiency' rhetoric is definitely making everyone elsewhere look over their shoulders. Management is tight-lipped, but the general consensus is that this is just the beginning of a broader restructuring strategy. Don't expect any real transparency from leadership; they’ll keep using those buzzwords until the next round of notifications drops.

Hang in there. I’ve been through these cycles before, and it never gets any easier. The company has been signaling this kind of 'transformation' for months, yet they still act surprised when morale tanks. I wouldn't hold my breath for a clear answer on whether it's departmental or random—usually, these broad sweeps prioritize cutting costs over maintaining operational stability. Keep your resume updated and start networking outside of the company now, because the 'efficiency' talk is only going to escalate as we head into the new fiscal year.
