Why does Elevance leadership keep lying about growth?

I’m honestly exhausted. How can leadership talk about record-breaking quarterly results and 'investing in the future' one day, and then dump hundreds of employees the next? The disconnect between the executive suite and the actual boots on the ground is reaching a breaking point. We are being asked to do the work of three people because of 'attrition' that they refuse to backfill, and then they have the audacity to execute these mass layoffs to pad the margin for the shareholders. I’ve been here long enough to see the cycles, but this feels different. The culture is completely hollowed out. There is no loyalty left because it’s obvious there is none coming from the top. I’m currently updating my resume and looking for an exit strategy, because waiting for an email from HR telling me my badge stopped working isn't a way to live. Anyone else just completely checked out?

Metairie office cuts - what's the word?

Just saw the WARN notice for the Metairie location hitting 216 people right before the end of the year. Absolute gut punch for those teams. I’m in a different region but the vibe here is already incredibly tense. Management keeps preaching 'efficiency' and 'transformation' during these town halls, but we all know that’s just corporate speak for headcount reduction. Is there any visibility on if these cuts are concentrated in a specific department, or is it another broad sweep across the board? I feel like we are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. My manager has been acting weird all week, avoiding eye contact, and the calendar invites for 'syncs' are becoming a daily occurrence. If you were part of this group, please share what the severance package looks like. Are they at least being generous, or is it the bare minimum? Stay safe out there everyone.

Morale is at an all-time low. Is anyone staying?

Does anyone actually feel secure at Elevance anymore? Every quarter it’s the same cycle: record profits, executive bonuses, and then a fresh round of 'strategic restructuring' that conveniently involves cutting hundreds of headcount. I’ve seen three rounds of cuts in my department in the last 18 months, and at this point, the remaining team is just drowning in work. We’re being asked to do the jobs of the people who were laid off, but with zero adjustment to our comp or timelines. It’s unsustainable. I feel like I’m just waiting for my name to be on the next spreadsheet. I’ve started interviewing elsewhere because I can’t deal with the anxiety of checking my email every Friday morning. Are you guys staying put or actively jumping ship? I feel like the loyalty here is completely dead, and it’s probably time to stop pretending this is a long-term home.

Champaign site closure - anyone else impacted today?

Just got the email and lost access to everything within 15 minutes. It’s the 612 person layoff that hit the Champaign office today. Honestly, I’m in shock. We were told for months that our unit was 'critical' and safe, but clearly, that was just corporate speak to keep us hitting deadlines until they could pull the plug. My manager didn't even know it was coming until an hour before the all-hands meeting. No transition plan, no nothing—just a severance package outline and a generic 'thank you for your service.' For those of us who have been here for 5+ years, this feels like a massive slap in the face. Is anyone actually getting a decent payout, or are they lowballing everyone? Checking the documents they sent, but it looks like standard boilerplate stuff. Time to update the resume, I guess. If anyone knows if they are still hiring in other hubs or if this is a company-wide freeze, let me know. Stay safe out there.

Elevance Health - Anyone Seeing Performance Reviews Differ This Year?

So, I just had my performance review at Elevance, and it felt… different. Usually, it's pretty straightforward, focusing on goals and achievements. This time around, there was a much heavier emphasis on 'overall contribution' and 'synergy,' which feels a bit subjective. My manager was kind of vague but hinted that not everyone might be aligning with the 'new direction' the company is heading. This is coming after all the recent buzz about restructuring and reorganizing teams. It's making me wonder if these reviews are a precursor to something more. Is anyone else experiencing this? Has your review process changed? Trying to gauge if this is a standard performance cycle or if it's tied to potential changes on the horizon. Any insights would be appreciated.

Elevance Health: Feeling the Squeeze - What's Really Going On?

Hey everyone, been with Elevance for a few years now and lately, the vibe in my department has been… off. Lots of hushed conversations, people seem more stressed than usual, and there's this general feeling of uncertainty. We've had a few meetings about 'efficiency improvements' and 'strategic shifts,' which always sounds like corporate speak for something else. No official announcements, no WARN notices, but the undercurrent is definitely there. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it just my team or is this a company-wide thing? Wondering if it's worth updating the resume just in case. Trying to stay positive but it's hard when the atmosphere feels so tense. Curious to hear if others are feeling this too and what they think might be happening behind the scenes.

Elevance Health: Anyone else getting the 're-evaluation' talk?

Been with Elevance for a bit, and recently my manager has been having these 'career development' talks that feel less about development and more about... 'position evaluation.' It's super vague, focusing on 'efficiency' and 'future skill sets.' Honestly, it's making me uneasy. It's not a direct 'you're on notice' conversation, but the subtext is definitely there. Several people in adjacent teams have also mentioned similar conversations. Is this a company-wide thing, or am I just in a department that's being targeted? I'm trying to stay positive and focus on what I can control, but it's hard when you're getting these indirect signals. Anyone else in a similar boat and what are you doing about it? Is it worth asking for more clarity, or is that just asking for trouble? Feels like the 'quiet quitting' vibe is creeping into management too, but in reverse – quiet 'evaluating'.

Elevance Health - Departmental Realignments & Rumors?

Hey folks, been at Elevance for a few years now, mostly in the IT/digital side. Lately, I've been hearing whispers and seeing some odd departmental reorgs happening. Not a big splashy announcement, more like quiet shifts in reporting structures and some teams suddenly feeling... 'redundant' is probably too strong a word, but definitely less essential. Anyone else experiencing this? It feels like they're trying to streamline things, but it's creating a lot of uncertainty and people are starting to get a bit nervous. I haven't seen any official layoff news, and my immediate team is still solid, but the vibe has definitely changed. It's not the usual end-of-year shuffle either, feels more strategic. Just curious if anyone else is picking up on this or has any insight into what might be going on behind the scenes. Trying to get a pulse check here before I start polishing the resume, just in case.

Elevance Health: Is Q4 going to be a bloodbath or just a quiet slowdown?

Alright, let's talk about the elephant in the room, even if no one's saying it out loud. Q4 is typically a time for year-end reviews and, sometimes, budget adjustments. This year, with the general economic climate and some of the industry headwinds, I'm a bit worried. We haven't had any official announcements, but the whisper network is buzzing. Performance management seems to be getting a lot more attention, and some departments are definitely feeling tighter on resources. Is anyone else bracing for potential cuts as we head into the end of the year? Or is this just standard end-of-year jitters? Trying to prepare myself mentally for whatever might come, but the lack of clear communication is making it tough. Hoping for the best, but planning for the worst. Anyone have insights on how this might play out?

Elevance Health: Anyone else seeing a shift in priorities lately?

Hey everyone, been with Elevance for a few years now and things have felt a bit... different the last quarter or so. Project scopes seem to be shifting mid-stream more often, and there's a lot of emphasis on "efficiency" and "streamlining." Not hearing any direct layoff chatter, but the vibe is definitely changing. Feels like leadership is getting us ready for something, or maybe just trying to cut costs indirectly through reorganizations. Anyone else noticing this? What are your teams doing to adapt? Just trying to get a pulse on things and see if this is a company-wide thing or just my department feeling the pressure. Trying to stay positive but it's hard when the goalposts keep moving and there's a general sense of unease.

Elevance Health: Is performance review season making things worse?

So, performance reviews are rolling out at Elevance, and man, it feels like the stakes are higher than usual. Usually, it's just about bonuses and next steps, but with all the talk about economic uncertainty and potential restructuring (even if nothing's confirmed), I'm wondering if these reviews are being used as a precursor to something more serious. Getting a 'meets expectations' feels like a win, but honestly, I'm seeing some strong performers getting lukewarm feedback, which is just adding to the unease. Anyone else feeling this way? Is it just me, or is the review process feeling a bit more…judgemental lately?

Elevance Health: Slowdowns and hiring freeze rumors?

Anyone else picking up on some weird vibes at Elevance? Things feel…off. Been hearing whispers about a hiring freeze, and my team's projects have definitely hit the brakes. It's not a full-blown layoff announcement or anything, but the general mood is a bit anxious. Feels like management is being unusually quiet, which only fuels the speculation. Anyone from HR or leadership have any insight, or is this just the usual end-of-quarter jitters? Trying to gauge if I should start updating the resume or if this is just noise.

The silence from leadership at Elevance is deafening

Is anyone else frustrated by the lack of communication from leadership at Elevance? We're hearing all sorts of rumors and seeing subtle shifts in priorities, but there's been zero transparency about what's actually going on. It feels like we're expected to just keep our heads down and work, while being left in the dark about potential organizational changes or impacts to our roles. This constant ambiguity is really starting to wear on people. It's hard to stay motivated and focused when you don't know what the future holds. I understand things can be complex, but a little proactive communication would go a long way in building trust and reducing anxiety. This silence is more anxiety-inducing than any potential bad news, honestly.

Elevance Health: Uncertainty and whispers - anyone else noticing?

Hey everyone, I've been with Elevance for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has been... off. There's a lot of quiet chatter in the hallways and on Teams about the future. No official word on layoffs or anything concrete, but there's definitely a buzz of uncertainty. My department has been under a lot of scrutiny lately, with a focus on 'efficiency' and 'streamlining operations.' Meetings feel more intense, and there's a general sense of people holding their breath. Anyone else picking up on this? Is it just my team, or is this a broader feeling across the company? Trying to gauge if I should be worried or if this is just the new normal. Seems like a lot of us are in the same boat, just trying to navigate these choppy waters.

Anyone else feeling the pressure at Elevance? Morale seems low.

I've been with Elevance for a few years now, and lately, the vibe has just felt… off. People seem more stressed, less engaged, and there's a general sense of uncertainty hanging in the air. Projects are getting scaled back, some initiatives seem to be on indefinite hold, and there's a lot of talk about 'optimizing resources.' It's hard not to connect these dots, even though there haven't been any official announcements. I've overheard a few conversations that sound concerning, mentioning 'redundancies' in certain areas, but nothing concrete. It’s making it tough to stay motivated when you feel like the rug could be pulled out from under you at any moment. Just wanted to see if I'm alone in this feeling or if others are experiencing a similar dip in morale and a rise in unspoken tension within Elevance. Curious to hear what others are observing.

Elevance Health: Performance review cycle changes – what does it mean?

Hey everyone, has anyone else at Elevance noticed the shift in how performance reviews are being handled this year? It feels like the criteria have gotten a lot stricter, and the emphasis is really being placed on 'impact' and 'efficiency' in a way that wasn't as pronounced before. My manager is being cagey, just saying it's 'aligning with strategic goals,' but it feels like there's more to it. I'm trying to figure out if this is a company-wide thing or just my department. It's making me a bit anxious, especially with all the whispers about restructuring and budget tightening. Wondering if anyone else is seeing similar changes or has any insights into what Elevance might be signaling with these adjustments. Is this just standard corporate evolution, or is it a precursor to something bigger? Trying to prepare myself either way.

Elevance's internal messaging vs. reality – anyone else noticing a disconnect?

I'm not sure if it's just me or my department, but the official messaging from Elevance about growth and stability seems to be really at odds with what's happening on the ground. We keep hearing about strategic initiatives and exciting new ventures, but meanwhile, resources are being pulled, teams are stretched thin, and there's a general sense of 'what's next?' that's hard to shake. It feels like there's a disconnect between the top-down narrative and the day-to-day reality for many of us. People are definitely starting to get spooked, and the lack of transparency is fueling a lot of speculation. Anyone else feeling this disconnect and wondering what's really going on behind the scenes?

Elevance: Significant budget cuts rolling out across departments?

Hey everyone, been with Elevance for a few years now, and things have felt... different lately. My team's been hearing whispers about pretty substantial budget cuts being implemented across multiple departments. It started with hiring freezes, then a halt on travel and training, and now some projects are being shelved indefinitely with no clear timeline for resumption. It's creating a lot of anxiety, as you can imagine. People are talking, and the general vibe is that this isn't just a minor reshuffle. Has anyone else experienced or heard about similar budget tightening or project cancellations in their area? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or isolated incidents. The lack of clear communication from leadership is making it worse. Feels like we're all walking on eggshells.

Anyone else's projects at Elevance suddenly paused?

Just wanted to put this out there to see if it's a wider thing or isolated to my department. For the past couple of weeks, several key projects I'm involved with have suddenly been put on hold, with minimal explanation beyond 'budgetary review' or 'strategic reprioritization.' It's weird because things were moving full steam ahead before that. Management is being super cagey about the reasons, which naturally leads to speculation. I'm not hearing about specific roles being cut, but the sudden halt on initiatives feels like a precursor to something. Is anyone else experiencing similar project stalls or budget freezes across Elevance? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide slowdown or just something specific to our corner of the org. Any insights on what might be driving this would be appreciated, even if it's just educated guesses.

Elevance Health - Anyone else feeling the uncertainty?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter about potential shifts across the industry, and honestly, it's starting to make me a bit nervous here at Elevance. No official word, of course, but there's definitely a low hum of 'what ifs' going around the virtual water cooler. Some teams seem to be hiring, while others feel like they're in a holding pattern. Just curious if anyone else is picking up on this vibe or if it's just me overthinking things? My team hasn't said anything concrete, but there have been some 'strategic realignment' conversations that felt a little... vague. Trying not to panic, but the silence on big company-wide updates is deafening. Anyone in similar boats or have insights into what might be brewing? Looking for some perspective from others who might be seeing or hearing something similar. Is this just the typical Q3/Q4 jitters, or is there more to it?
