Morale is at an all-time low. Is anyone staying?

Does anyone actually feel secure at Elevance anymore? Every quarter it’s the same cycle: record profits, executive bonuses, and then a fresh round of 'strategic restructuring' that conveniently involves cutting hundreds of headcount. I’ve seen three rounds of cuts in my department in the last 18 months, and at this point, the remaining team is just drowning in work. We’re being asked to do the jobs of the people who were laid off, but with zero adjustment to our comp or timelines. It’s unsustainable. I feel like I’m just waiting for my name to be on the next spreadsheet. I’ve started interviewing elsewhere because I can’t deal with the anxiety of checking my email every Friday morning. Are you guys staying put or actively jumping ship? I feel like the loyalty here is completely dead, and it’s probably time to stop pretending this is a long-term home.

I feel that. It’s the same story every time—the leadership talks about efficiency while we’re the ones carrying the weight of multiple roles for the same paycheck. I’ve been looking for an exit strategy for months because waiting for the next round of restructuring feels like living in a state of constant anxiety. Don’t wait for things to get better here; prioritize your own mental health and start polishing your resume before they make the decision for you.

Honestly, security is a myth in this industry. I’ve stopped trying to build a career here and started looking at this strictly as a paycheck until something stable opens up elsewhere. It’s draining to see the stock price climb while our team gets gutted, but that’s the reality of modern corporate life. My advice is to keep your head down, do the bare minimum required, and save your real energy for finding a company that actually invests in its people instead of just its shareholders.
