Anyone else feeling the pre-layoff jitters? 😬

I'm in Product Development, been with Ford for almost 8 years. Lately, the vibe has been...off. Lots of closed-door meetings, weird re-org charts floating around, and my manager is suddenly super vague about future projects. I know the auto industry is always volatile, but this feels different. Anyone else experiencing this? Am I just being paranoid, or is the writing on the wall? I'm starting to dust off my resume, just in case. What teams are especially vulnerable, do you think? I'm hearing whispers about the electric vehicle division taking a hit, but that's just scuttlebutt.

I'm in Manufacturing and feel the same way. The constant push for efficiency improvements, combined with the overall market slowdown, makes me nervous. Remember back in '08? It felt a lot like this. My advice? Start networking internally and see if there are any openings in other departments that seem more secure. Better to be proactive than scrambling later.

Honestly, you might be reading too much into it. Ford's always restructuring. It's part of their DNA. I've seen this happen at least three times in my 12 years here. Managers are *always* vague, and re-org charts are just part of the bureaucratic process. Unless you hear something concrete, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Just keep doing your job and ignore the noise.
