Feeling the pressure: How's morale and workload in other Ford departments?

Things have been pretty tense in my area lately. We're hearing a lot of the same buzz about restructuring and focusing on the new platforms, which inevitably means some roles are becoming redundant. It's not just the hourly folks, either. Seems like management is really pushing for efficiency, and you can feel the pressure to do more with less. Some projects are getting shelved, while others are being fast-tracked, and it's creating a lot of internal movement and uncertainty. I'm worried about where this is heading. Anyone else experiencing similar shifts in workload, team structure, or overall company direction? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide vibe or just specific to my division. Just want to know if I should be updating the resume or if this is a temporary phase.

Yeah, the restructuring talk is definitely making rounds here too. It feels like a constant game of 'musical chairs' with projects and priorities shifting weekly. There's a lot of good people feeling uneasy about their future, and it's hard to focus on the day-to-day when you're worried about what's next. The push for efficiency is understandable, but the constant churn is starting to wear people down.

I hear you. The uncertainty is the worst part. We're getting mixed messages about the new platforms – some days it's all hands on deck, the next it's complete silence. It's tough to maintain momentum when you don't know if your work will even be relevant in a few months. Morale is definitely taking a hit, and it feels like everyone's just trying to keep their head down and hope for the best.
