Anyone else's team headcount frozen at Fox?

Been trying to get approval for a new hire on my team for the past quarter, and it's been a complete dead end. HR keeps saying there's a 'strategic review' of all open requisitions. Meanwhile, workload is increasing and we're stretched thin. Just heard through the grapevine that hiring has been effectively frozen across several divisions, despite no official announcements. It makes me wonder what the long-term plan is. Are they trying to cut costs? Is this a precursor to something bigger? Anyone in a similar boat trying to grow their team or just struggling with current staffing levels due to lack of new blood? Trying to understand the broader picture here.

Yeah, I've been hearing similar rumblings here. It's incredibly frustrating when you have critical roles open and can't get anyone in the door. The 'strategic review' excuse is getting old, and it feels like a lot of departments are being squeezed. Makes you wonder if they're planning some sort of restructuring or just tightening the belt significantly. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase and we'll see some movement soon, because this isn't sustainable long-term.

Definitely not just you. The silence from management on this is deafening. We're all feeling the pressure, and the lack of transparency about hiring freezes is concerning.
