Interesting. My department, which is more traditional broadcast side, hasn't felt anything major, but I've noticed a lot more internal communication about 'efficiency' and 'synergy' lately. It's the kind of buzzword-heavy language that usually precedes some kind of change, even if it's not layoffs. I'm keeping an ear out, but it's mostly just background noise for now. Definitely feels like a 'wait and see' situation.
I can't say I'm surprised. The media landscape is constantly shifting, and companies like Fox have to adapt. Digital and streaming are where the growth is, but also where the competition is fierce. It makes sense they'd be looking at resource allocation. Hopefully, any changes are strategic and lead to better outcomes for the company and its employees in the long run, rather than just cost-cutting for its own sake.
