I’m hearing the cuts hit the production and support teams pretty hard this round. It’s been brutal watching the office culture deteriorate while leadership hides behind corporate buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'efficiency.' Honestly, nobody feels safe anymore. When they start cutting back-office staff, it’s usually a signal that they are looking to trim the fat across the board to satisfy shareholders. My advice is to update your resume immediately and start networking outside the company. The writing has been on the wall for a while now, and I wouldn't bet on this being the final wave of layoffs this year. Stay prepared and keep your options open.
It's always the same story with these guys. They talk about future-proofing, but they never actually mention how it impacts the people doing the heavy lifting. I’ve heard through the grapevine that the digital divisions and some administrative roles took the brunt of it this time around. It's incredibly toxic how they frame these things as 'strategic alignments' when it's clearly just about bottom-line optics. I’m just waiting for the next shoe to drop, but at this point, the morale is non-existent anyway. It’s probably time we all stop waiting for things to get better and start looking for a workplace that actually values its people.
