Anyone else feeling the jitters at FT lately?

Been at Franklin Templeton for about 5 years now, in the operations side of things, and lately the vibe has been... off. Management is being super cagey about everything, and there have been a lot of 'realignments' in different departments. No official word on layoffs, but there's definitely a sense of unease. Heard some whispers about budget freezes and hiring pauses too. Just wondering if anyone else in other areas of the business are picking up on similar signals or if it's just my department? Trying not to panic, but it's hard when leadership isn't transparent. My direct manager is MIA a lot lately, and when I do see them, they're really tight-lipped. Anyone have any insights or similar experiences? It's making it hard to focus on the actual work when you're constantly looking over your shoulder.

I'm over in tech at FT and can confirm the 'unease' is pretty widespread. We've definitely felt the impact of budget constraints, with project timelines being pushed and resources being reallocated unexpectedly. Management's communication has been minimal, which only fuels the speculation. It's tough when you don't have clear answers. Hang in there, hopefully, things will become clearer soon.

Operations here too, and honestly, I'm not surprised by what you're seeing. I've been here longer than you and seen these cycles before. 'Realignments' is corporate speak for restructuring, and it usually precedes tougher times. My advice? Keep your resume updated and network internally. It's always better to be prepared than caught off guard. Don't let the 'jitters' paralyze you; focus on what you *can* control.
