What's the deal with retention bonuses? Any FT specifics?
So, I've been hearing a lot about companies offering retention bonuses during these uncertain times, especially in asset management. My team hasn't received anything concrete, but there have been a lot of 'stay interviews' and vague reassurances from higher-ups. I've been with Franklin Templeton for nearly 8 years, working in a client-facing role, and I'm pretty vested here. Been at Franklin Templeton for about 5 years now, in the operations side of things, and lately the vibe has been... off. Management is being super cagey about everything, and there have been a lot of 'realignments' in different departments. No official word on layoffs, but there's definitely a sense of unease. Heard some whispers about budget freezes and hiring pauses too. Just wondering if anyone else in other areas of the business are picking up on similar signals or if it's just my department? Trying not to panic, but it's hard when leadership isn't transparent. My direct manager is MIA a lot lately, and when I do see them, they're really tight-lipped. Anyone have any insights or similar experiences? It's making it hard to focus on the actual work when you're constantly looking over your shoulder.
