What's up FT folks, Is it just me or is the general atmosphere at FT getting a bit tense? I've noticed a definite slowdown in new initiatives and a lot more emphasis on 'cost optimization'. Heard a rumor from someone in another division about a hiring pause that wasn't officially communicated. My own team's workload hasn't necessarily decreased, but the resources feel tighter, and there's a general sense of uncertainty about future projects. I'm trying to stay optimistic, but the lack of clear communication is making it hard. It's starting to feel like something is brewing, even if there's no concrete news. Has anyone heard anything more substantial, or is this just the usual corporate jitters? Trying to prepare myself mentally, I guess. Would love to hear from others who might be feeling the same way or have heard something more concrete.

I've definitely picked up on the same vibes. It feels like we're being asked to do more with less, and the 'optimization' talk is pretty constant. The rumor about a hiring pause makes sense, given what I'm seeing. It's tough when you're used to a certain pace and then things start to feel like they're on hold, even if the actual work hasn't lessened. Hopefully, it's just a temporary phase.
