814 layoffs in MI - are we next?

Just saw the news about the 814 heads being chopped in Michigan. The company statement about 'aligning resources' is such a slap in the face to the people who built these programs. It’s hard to stay motivated when you see nearly a thousand colleagues get canned via a WARN filing while management talks about record performance on the investor calls. I’ve been at GE Aerospace for six years, and I’ve never seen the morale this low. Is anyone else hearing rumors about further consolidation in the Midwest or East Coast? I’m preparing my resume tonight because I don't trust the long-term stability here anymore. If they can drop 800+ people at once, none of us are untouchable.

The silence from leadership here is deafening. Every time they mention 'synergies' or 'alignment' in these town halls, it feels like they’re just prepping the next round of cuts. I’ve stopped trusting the internal messaging entirely. Keep your resume polished and start networking outside the company now. It’s better to be prepared for the worst than to be blindsided like our colleagues in Michigan were. This isn't the same place it was even two years ago, and we all know it.
