Anyone else hearing whispers in the Warren Tech Center?

I'm in body engineering, been with GM for 8 years. Lately, the vibe in the office has been super weird. My manager, who's usually pretty chatty, has been tight-lipped and avoiding eye contact. Saw a bunch of people from HR huddled in a conference room the other day, looking serious. I know the auto industry is cyclical, but this feels different than the usual pre-contract negotiation jitters. Anyone else feeling like something's about to drop? I've started updating my resume, just in case. I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid, but my gut is telling me to prepare for the worst.

Yeah, I'm in powertrain and have noticed the same thing. Fewer meetings, more hushed conversations. It could be nothing, but it's better to be prepared. Smart move updating your resume. I'm polishing my LinkedIn profile this weekend.

Honestly, it's probably just anxiety. Happens every few years. Remember the rumors back in '18 about closing the proving grounds? Turned out to be nothing. Focus on your work, don't let the gossip get to you. Worrying only makes things worse. Management changes happen, it's a normal part of any big company.
