Just saw the news about GM letting another 1000 people go, this time out of Detroit, effective June 22nd. This is getting brutal. Seems like every few months there's another wave. I've been with the company for 15 years and have seen ups and downs, but this feels different. The constant restructuring and cuts are really starting to wear on morale. People are looking over their shoulders constantly, even those who think they're safe. I keep hearing whispers about the EV transition being a factor, but it's hard to get concrete answers. Anyone else in Detroit feeling the heat? What's the vibe at your location? Feels like we're heading into uncharted territory here.

This is incredibly disheartening to read. Seeing 1000 more jobs disappear, especially from Detroit, hits hard. The constant cycle of cuts must be exhausting for everyone still there, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty. Fifteen years is a significant commitment, and to witness this level of instability must be incredibly worrying. Morale surely takes a massive hit when job security feels so precarious. It's understandable why people are constantly on edge and wondering what's next for the company and their own careers. The EV transition is a huge shift, but the human cost of these changes is immense.
