Sounds pretty typical for large corporations, unfortunately. They often focus more on buzzwords and theoretical scenarios than real-world problem-solving. Don't take it personally; many interviewers are just following a script or trying to justify their own methodologies. It is possible they just didn't know what to ask. Keep applying, and try to steer the conversation back to your accomplishments and quantifiable results next time.
I'm going to disagree a little bit. While some 'culture fit' screening can be a bit much, a Senior Engineer should be able to articulate their understanding of agile and cloud paradigms. It's not just about lines of code anymore; it's about understanding the bigger picture and being able to communicate effectively. Perhaps you could refine how you present your experience in these areas? Even if you disagree with their approach, demonstrating understanding is key.
