Anyone else seeing a hiring freeze at GS? Feels different this time.

Hey all, just wanted to see if anyone else is feeling this. I'm in [Division Name] at Goldman and lately, it feels like the brakes have been slammed on hiring. Open requisitions that were active a month ago are suddenly 'on hold' or just vanishing. My manager is being super cagey, just saying 'streamlining processes.' Doesn't feel like a normal slowdown, though. Heard some whispers about budget reviews extending into Q3, which is unusual. Feels like we might be heading for a round of cuts, even if nothing's official yet. Anyone in other divisions or regions seeing something similar? Trying to get a pulse on the ground here before anything concrete comes out. Just anxious, you know? The last few years have been wild, and this quiet feels louder than any announcement. Is it just my team or is this a broader GS thing?

Yeah, I'm hearing similar things across a few different teams. The usual hiring churn feels way more deliberate lately, not just a seasonal dip. My team's headcount freeze seems to be sticking, and the 'efficiency drive' talk is getting louder. Definitely feels like more than just a standard budget review; the silence on new roles is deafening.
