GS India layoffs - is the 'secret' out?

Saw some posts here and on other sites talking about layoffs in India for Goldman Sachs, some mentioning it being done 'secretively'. Now, I'm not in India, but this kind of talk inevitably makes you wonder if it's a sign of things to come elsewhere, or if it's contained. It's a huge operation there, so even smaller percentage cuts could be a significant number of people. Curious if anyone in India who might have been affected or knows someone who was can shed some light? Were there any warnings, or was it truly out of the blue? And for those outside India, does this make you more or less concerned about your own role? Trying to get a clearer picture of what's happening on the ground.
