Anyone else feel like the constant 'reorgs' are just thinly veiled layoffs?

Been at Google for a while now, and it feels like every quarter there's some new 'strategic realignment' or 'efficiency drive.' Then, a few weeks later, you hear about a round of layoffs in that exact same area. It's getting really hard to ignore the pattern. It feels like they're trying to avoid admitting to mass layoffs by doing these small, targeted cuts disguised as 'restructuring.' Makes you wonder about your own job security, even if you're in a 'safe' area. What's the point of all this constant churn if it just leads to people leaving anyway? Is anyone else feeling this, or am I just being paranoid?

I've seen this happen too many times. The buzzwords change, but the outcome is the same. It creates so much uncertainty and makes it difficult to plan projects or even feel motivated. It's a tough environment when you feel like you're constantly on shaky ground due to these corporate maneuvers.

Totally agree. The company narrative never matches the reality on the ground. These 'reorganizations' always seem to precede people leaving, whether by choice or not. It breeds distrust and frankly, it's exhausting to constantly try and decipher what's really going on behind the corporate speak.
