That's rough, buddy. Ten years is a long time. I know the feeling of corporate buzzwords offering no comfort. My company did something similar a few years back. Honestly, take the time you need to grieve the loss. Then, dust off that resume. Your skills as a senior engineer, especially in Cloud, are valuable. Start networking now. You've got this!
"Strategic realignment" usually means 'we messed up and now someone has to pay.' Cloud is definitely a competitive space. Wonder what that really means for Google's priorities going forward, and who made the cut. Makes you wonder about company loyalty these days. At least you'll probably get a decent severance package after that much time.
