More job cuts, more reorgs. Is anyone at Google safe?

Just saw the news about the latest round of layoffs, this time hitting the Global Business Unit. Honestly, it feels like every other week there's a new round of 'streamlining' or 'reorganization' that ends up with people on the street. I've been here for a few years and the stability that used to define Google feels like a distant memory. People are stressed, constantly looking over their shoulders, and wondering if their team or project will be the next to get the axe. It's hard to stay motivated when you see so much talent being let go, often with little explanation. Are they just clearing house to make room for something new, or is this a sign of deeper issues within the company? Feels like a really uncertain time to be a Googler.
