PNW offices getting the 'quiet' treatment today

So the news reports are finally catching up to the internal feeling. Another 52 people gone across Kirkland, Redmond, and Seattle. It feels like death by a thousand cuts at this point. I remember when getting a role at one of the PNW campuses felt like winning the lottery—now I spend half my day wondering if my badge will work on Monday. Management keeps sending out these vague memos about 'streamlining' and 'operational efficiency' while we’re all just sitting here waiting for the calendar invite from HR. The morale in the office is subterranean. Half the folks I talk to are either spending their work hours updating their LinkedIn or just completely phoning it in because there’s no point in grinding for a promotion that might not exist in six months. Does anyone know if this is the end of the cuts for the region, or are we just waiting for the next batch? I’m tired of the anxiety. If you’re one of the 52, I’m truly sorry—hope you land somewhere that actually values you.

It is honestly exhausting to watch. I have been at the company for years, and the atmosphere has shifted from a place of innovation to a high-stress waiting room. You hit the nail on the head with the 'death by a thousand cuts' description. The vague memos are the worst part because they pretend like everything is fine while the team culture disintegrates. It is hard to care about product roadmaps or project goals when you know the person next to you might be cut before the week ends. Just keep your head down and look for other options.

I understand the anxiety, but at this point, you have to realize that corporate leadership is solely focused on the bottom line to appease shareholders. This isn't the same company we joined five or ten years ago. It has become just another soulless entity where employees are treated as disposable expenses rather than actual people. My advice is to stop waiting for the badge to stop working and start treating your career with the same cold, calculated detachment they are treating you with. Polish your resume and jump ship before the next round of 'efficiency' cycles back around.
