Feeling the squeeze in the supply chain vertical

The atmosphere in the supply chain division has been incredibly tense this week. I don't have a confirmed number, but the amount of 'cost optimization' talk coming down the pipeline is alarming. We’re being told to do more with less, which is the classic precursor to a RIF. The pressure to consolidate roles is getting absurd—my manager is essentially asking two people to perform three full-time jobs. It feels like they are grooming us to be leaner for the sake of the quarterly numbers, and honestly, the burnout is hitting everyone at once. I’ve spoken to a few folks in other departments and it seems like the belt-tightening is company-wide, not just contained to the plant level. If they are looking to trim the fat to appease shareholders, we’re all sitting ducks. I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Anyone else getting a bad vibe from their skip-level meetings lately?

I’ve been hearing the exact same whispers over in operations. The 'cost optimization' buzzword is corporate speak for 'expect layoffs by the end of the quarter.' Management is clearly prioritizing the balance sheet over the actual workforce, and it's demoralizing to watch talented people pushed to the breaking point with these impossible workloads. If you have the bandwidth, it might be time to quietly update your resume, because the writing is definitely on the wall.

Honestly, the sentiment is the same across most departments right now. It feels like we are just numbers on a spreadsheet being trimmed to satisfy Wall Street’s expectations. Everyone is running on fumes, and the lack of transparency from leadership is making the environment toxic. Don't sacrifice your mental health for a company that is clearly ready to cut you loose the second it helps their bottom line. Look out for yourself first.
