It is honestly exhausting watching the same playbook get recycled every time an acquisition looms. I am in one of the impacted departments and the 'restructuring' label is just a thin veil for clearing space before the Chevron transition is fully finalized. My workload has already doubled because half the team is effectively checked out or waiting for their packages. They keep preaching synergy and integration, but the only thing being integrated is a massive talent drain that is leaving the remaining staff to pick up the pieces of a sinking ship. Good luck to everyone holding on.
I’ve been watching the internal listings and it’s a joke. They claim these are efficiency gains, but anyone on the ground knows the transition plan is a mess. The offshore teams don't have the institutional knowledge to handle the specialized tasks coming out of Minot, so we end up redoing their work on top of our own daily duties. Management can spin the integration narrative all they want, but it’s clear they are prioritizing short-term headcount targets over long-term stability. The environment is toxic right now, and the lack of transparency is the real killer.
