Just saw the WARN notice hit for the Minot location. 111 people gone as of July 21st. The atmosphere in the office is absolutely toxic right now—everyone is staring at their emails waiting for that calendar invite or the dreaded 'please report to HR' ping. It’s hard to stay focused when you know the Chevron deal is looming over our heads. Management keeps talking about 'synergies' and 'streamlining,' but we all know that’s just corporate speak for cutting costs to make the balance sheet look pretty for the merger. If you haven't heard anything yet, consider yourself lucky for the moment, but keep your resume polished. This feels like the first wave, not the last. Honestly, I’m just trying to figure out if my severance package is actually going to be worth a damn, or if they’re going to find a way to nickel and dime us on the way out. The mood here is completely shot. Watching 111 of our colleagues get pushed out in Minot is a brutal wake-up call for the rest of us. We all know these 'synergies' are just a polite way of saying they’re trimming the fat before the Chevron merger. It’s impossible to get any work done when you’re constantly checking your inbox for a layoff invite. Loyalty clearly means nothing to leadership when there’s a bottom line to pad. I feel terrible for everyone who lost their jobs today; the uncertainty hanging over the remaining staff is just suffocating.

It is honestly disgusting how they handle these announcements. They talk about 'streamlining' like we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet rather than people with families and mortgages. I’ve survived a few of these rounds before, but the energy in the office right now is the worst I’ve ever seen. The Chevron deal is clearly the priority, and the employees are just collateral damage. If you’re still waiting on news today, keep your head down and start updating your resume. This company stopped caring about its culture a long time ago.
