Hess - Pre-Chevron Deal Rumblings?

Hey everyone. Been with Hess for a few years now and lately, things feel... different. Not sure if it's just me or if others are picking up on it too. There's been a lot of talk about the Chevron deal, obviously, but even before that, there was this undercurrent of 'what's next?'. Management seems a bit cagey, and there have been a few internal reorganizations that felt like they were shuffling deck chairs. No official news, of course, but the grapevine is buzzing. Anyone else experiencing this sense of unease or just general strategic ambiguity? It's making it hard to focus on the day-to-day when you're constantly wondering about the long-term outlook. Hoping it's just noise, but it's hard to ignore.

I've been noticing the same vibe, honestly. It's more than just the Chevron chatter; there's a palpable sense of uncertainty that seems to have settled in. Internal comms have been a bit sparse on the bigger picture, and you can feel the tension when talking to folks in different departments. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan really is, beyond any immediate M&A activity. Hope it leads to something positive, but it's hard to shake the feeling that significant changes are on the horizon.

Yeah, the internal reshuffling definitely raised an eyebrow for me too. It felt a little like trying to optimize for a scenario that hasn't quite materialized yet. While the Chevron deal is the obvious headline, it's the quieter shifts internally that feel more telling about the underlying strategy or lack thereof. Just trying to stay focused on my own work, but it's hard not to speculate when the signals are a bit mixed. Curious to see how things shake out.
