Anyone else noticing the 'AI efficiency' narrative creeping into all-hands?

Is it just me, or has the language during the monthly all-hands shifted significantly? A few months ago, it was all about 'growth mindset' and 'innovation,' but now every other slide is about optimizing headcount through AI integration and streamlining operational costs. I’ve been with HP for over five years, and the vibe shift is palpable. They keep mentioning these multi-year fiscal targets that suspiciously align with the industry trends of cutting thousands of roles to pivot to AI. My manager recently started asking for incredibly detailed breakdowns of my daily tasks, down to the hour. It feels like they’re building a map of exactly which roles can be replaced by a script or an automated workflow. Every time someone asks about job security in the Q&A, the leadership just pivots to these vague corporate buzzwords about 'long-term sustainability.' Has anyone else seen their team leads acting weird or sudden 'process audits' popping up out of nowhere? I feel like we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it’s getting exhausting trying to deliver on projects while constantly looking over my shoulder.

It is definitely not just you. The tone in the town halls has completely soured over the last two quarters. It feels like every meeting is just a lead-up to another round of bad news hidden behind corporate buzzwords. I’ve noticed the same obsession with fiscal efficiency at the expense of actual product development. It is exhausting to watch the focus shift entirely toward trimming the bottom line while those of us doing the real work are left wondering if our desks will be empty by the end of the year.

Honestly, the vibe at the office has been pretty grim for a while now. They keep rolling out these glossy presentations about new strategic pivots, but it all feels like a smokescreen for mass layoffs. Everyone I talk to in the hallways is just waiting for the next shoe to drop. It is hard to stay motivated when management talks about long-term goals while simultaneously signaling that the current workforce is becoming disposable. We are all just tired of the constant uncertainty and the hollow messaging from leadership.
