Anyone else seeing mandatory budget cuts across teams?

Hey everyone, been at HP for about 6 years now, primarily in the Enterprise Services division. Over the past month, it feels like every discretionary spend is getting scrutinized. My manager has been hinting at significant belt-tightening for Q3/Q4. We've had to cancel team social events, freeze on new software licenses, and even pause some training budgets. Just wondering if this is happening elsewhere or if it's specific to our division. Feels like a precursor to something bigger, but not hearing any direct layoff talk, just a lot of 'fiscal responsibility.' Anyone else getting the same vibe? What's your team doing to cope?

Yeah, I'm seeing similar things in my team, though maybe not quite as severe as yours. We've definitely had a pause on any non-essential travel and are being extra careful about what we put through for expenses. It's a bit unnerving, but honestly, given the current economic climate, it's not entirely surprising. Trying to focus on what we *can* control and deliver, rather than worrying too much about the unknowns.

Interesting. I'm in a different part of the company, and things seem pretty normal budget-wise right now. We haven't had any of those specific cuts mentioned. Maybe it's more concentrated in certain divisions or business units? Six years is a good run, so you've likely seen cycles before. Hopefully, it's just a temporary recalibration and not a sign of deeper issues. Keep your eyes and ears open, but try not to let it get to you too much.
