Is HP's focus on 'future growth' just a cover for job cuts?

I've been seeing a lot of internal communications about HP's strategic shift towards 'future growth areas' and 'innovation'. While that sounds great on paper, it feels like there's a subtext I'm not getting. We're being told to adapt and embrace new technologies, but I'm worried this is just a prelude to significant workforce reductions. They're talking about streamlining and optimizing, which in my experience, often translates to fewer people doing more work, or worse, no people at all. I'm especially concerned given the recent news cycles about the tech industry. Has anyone been in a similar situation at HP or another company where this kind of language preceded actual layoffs? Trying to stay optimistic but also realistic. Any insights would be appreciated.
