Did anyone else's team get a 'reorg' announcement today?

Just got an email about our team structure changing, effective immediately. It was pretty vague, just said it's to 'optimize for future growth' and that 'roles and responsibilities may shift'. No mention of layoffs directly, but the wording feels... ominous. My manager is in back-to-back meetings and hasn't responded to my questions. Is anyone else hearing this? What does this usually mean? My role is in customer success, been here for 2 years. Feels like a bad sign, especially with how things have been lately. Anyone have experience with this kind of announcement turning into something worse?

Ugh, that sounds really unsettling. 'Optimize for future growth' is corporate speak for 'we're shaking things up and nobody knows what it means yet.' I've been through a few of these, and sometimes it's just reshuffling, other times... well, it's not great. Hang in there, hopefully, your manager can give you some clarity soon. Try to focus on what you *do* know about your role and keep doing good work, that's always your best defense.

Yeah, I've seen that same language before, usually right before some significant changes happen. It's designed to be vague so they have flexibility. Don't let the 'ominous' feeling consume you just yet, though. It could be that they're consolidating teams or shifting focus, which might not even impact your day-to-day directly. Keep your ears open and try to get concrete information when you can. Good luck!
