Just got laid off... feels like a gut punch.

Well, it finally happened. Got the call this morning. Part of the marketing team, been here almost 3 years. To say I'm shocked is an understatement. They said it was a 'restructuring' and my role was 'no longer needed.' I poured my heart and soul into this company. The worst part is the lack of transparency. We were all working our butts off, hitting goals, and then BAM, out of nowhere. Severance package was okay, a few months of pay and benefits, but still... I'm angry, I'm sad, and I'm scared. Now I'm facing a job market flooded with other laid-off tech workers. Thanks, HubSpot, for nothing. Time to dust off LinkedIn I guess.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Been there, done that – the 'restructuring' line is corporate speak for 'we messed up our budgeting'. It's incredibly frustrating when you're giving it your all and then get blindsided. Take the severance, let yourself feel the anger and sadness, but then hit the ground running. Update your resume, network like crazy, and remember all those achievements you made. You’ve got this! Lean on your network.

Hitting goals doesn't always matter when the company changes its direction. Think hard about whether that direction made sense to you. Three years is a good run – could be a sign you're ready to learn new skills or go in a different direction. Time to reflect and plan. Don't dwell on the anger, use it to fuel your next chapter.
