Seeing some weird behavior from leadership lately...

Hey all, been at HubSpot for about 3 years now, working on the product team. Lately, things just feel... off. My skip-level meetings have been cut short, the all-hands felt really rushed, and there's been a lot of 'synergy' talk that sounds like corporate buzzword bingo. My direct manager is being super cagey about roadmap details too, which is unusual. We're usually pretty transparent. Anyone else in engineering or related fields noticing similar vibes? Is this just my team or is there a broader shift happening that I'm missing? Trying not to jump to conclusions, but the office mood is definitely shifting from 'fast-paced growth' to 'what's next?' Kinda getting the jitters, not gonna lie.

I've been with HubSpot for a while now, and I hear you. The shift in communication style definitely feels noticeable lately. My skip-levels haven't been cut short, but the agenda feels... tighter, less open-ended than before. And the buzzword bingo is real! I'm in marketing, so maybe it's hitting different teams, but I've definitely felt a squeeze on detailed roadmap discussions too. My manager has chalked it up to 'strategic realignment' but it feels like more than that. Hopefully, it's just a phase and we can get back to the usual transparency soon.

Hmm, 'synergy' and cagey managers? Sounds like classic pre-announcement jitters to me. Companies often tighten communication and streamline messaging before a major shift, whether it's a restructure, acquisition, or a big product pivot. It's probably not about your specific team or your manager being intentionally secretive, but more about a controlled rollout of information. I'd focus on what you *can* control – your work. If the roadmap is unclear, ask your manager for high-level goals and objectives that you can still drive towards. The specifics will come out eventually.
