Anyone else feeling the quiet before the storm at IBM?

Just saw some of the news circulating about layoffs at other tech companies, and even some chatter about IBM in Europe. It's got me a bit on edge here. Been with IBM for a few years, and things have been... steady. But you can't help but feel the industry shifts. Heard some whispers about restructuring in my department, but nothing concrete. Management is all smiles and 'business as usual', but the vibe is definitely changing. Anyone else picking up on similar vibes? Are teams consolidating? Are there hiring freezes I'm not seeing? Just trying to gauge the general sentiment out there. Wondering if it's just me being paranoid or if others are noticing something too. Any insights or similar experiences would be appreciated.

I'm picking up what you're putting down. 'Steady' can feel like a ticking clock sometimes, especially when the broader tech landscape is in flux. While I haven't heard direct rumblings about layoffs here, the 'business as usual' mantra from leadership can sometimes feel a little too rehearsed when there's underlying uncertainty. It's natural to feel a bit on edge when you see what's happening elsewhere. Keeping an ear to the ground, but trying not to let the speculation get the better of me.

It's definitely a strange atmosphere. The public messaging is all about growth and innovation, but there's a persistent undercurrent of 'what if.' I've noticed some project scopes shifting and a few long-term initiatives being quietly shelved, which could be interpreted as efficiency drives or something more significant. It's tough to gauge without solid information, but the feeling of unease seems to be shared by many across different departments. Just hoping for clarity soon.
