Anyone else seeing a hiring freeze on new requisitions?

Hey all, I've been trying to get a new role internally for a few weeks now and my manager keeps pushing back my transfer date. HR flagged that there's a soft hiring freeze on new requisitions, which is why they can't approve my transfer just yet. This sounds like a precursor to something bigger, and frankly, it's making me nervous. I haven't heard any official word, but the lack of movement is really odd. Usually, internal transfers are fairly straightforward. It's not just my team either, I've spoken to a couple of folks in other departments, and they're seeing the same thing. Is anyone else experiencing this, or have any insights into what might be happening? Trying not to panic, but this feels like a bad sign.

Yeah, I'm sensing something similar. The usual chatter about new projects and growth opportunities seems to have died down considerably. My team lead is being cagey when asked about future hiring plans, and some planned initiatives are being put on hold indefinitely. It's unsettling, especially when you're looking to advance within the company. Makes you wonder what the long-term strategy really is, or if there are financial headwinds we're not being told about.

I haven't heard anything official about a hiring freeze, but the slowdown in recruitment is definitely noticeable. It's taking much longer than usual for even basic roles to get posted, let alone filled. Anecdotally, I've heard from a few different departments that their requisitions are getting stuck in approvals. It could be a seasonal thing, or maybe a budget review is underway. Hopefully, it's just a temporary pause and not a sign of broader cutbacks.
