Feeling the pressure on my project, anyone else?

Is it just me or is the workload on certain projects becoming unsustainable? My team has been running on fumes for months, and we keep getting asked to do more with less. We're supposed to be delivering on some critical client commitments, but we're constantly short-staffed. I've seen a few folks leave voluntarily over the last quarter, and no one seems to be rushing to fill those roles. My manager keeps talking about 'efficiency improvements' and 'streamlining processes,' but it just feels like a roundabout way of saying we need to pick up the slack. I'm starting to worry that this isn't just a temporary crunch, but a sign of things to come. The lack of new hires and the constant pressure to deliver are really grinding me down. Anyone else experiencing this kind of sustained pressure without clear answers on team growth or resource allocation? It's starting to feel like a slow bleed.

Yeah, it's definitely not just you. The 'do more with less' mantra has been a constant theme for a while now, and it's wearing people down. It's frustrating when you see the same issues repeating without real solutions. The voluntary departures are a pretty clear signal that things aren't working as they should, and the lack of replacements just exacerbates the problem. Hoping your team can catch a break soon and get the resources needed.

I hear you. That feeling of being stretched too thin and seeing people burn out is incredibly demotivating. Management buzzwords about efficiency sound hollow when the reality on the ground is constant overload and critical roles remaining unfilled. It makes it hard to feel invested when it seems like the company isn't prioritizing the people doing the actual work. Hang in there and try to find small wins where you can.
