Hearing whispers... is Q1 going to be rough for IBM?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter online and hearing some concerning murmurs internally, though nothing concrete has been announced. Seems like other big tech companies are making moves, and the general sentiment is that IBM might not be immune. I work in the consulting division, and my manager has been unusually tight-lipped about upcoming projects and headcount. Usually, we're looking at a busy pipeline, but lately, it feels like things are on pause. A few colleagues from other departments have mentioned their teams are being 'optimized' or undergoing 'restructuring,' which never sounds good. I'm trying not to panic, but the lack of clear communication is really unsettling. Has anyone else in different IBM divisions picked up on anything similar? Or am I just reading too much into the general tech downturn news? Trying to stay positive but also mentally prepare for the worst. Any insights would be appreciated.

I've heard similar things, particularly about potential slowdowns in certain enterprise software segments. It's tough to get a clear picture without official word, but the cautious atmosphere is definitely palpable. Let's hope for positive news soon, but being prepared for a potential dip seems prudent.

Interesting post. From what I've gathered from industry news and a few contacts, the shift towards cloud and AI solutions is accelerating, and companies that aren't fully pivoting are feeling the pressure. IBM's legacy business has always been a strength, but adapting at the pace required is a huge undertaking. Time will tell how Q1 shakes out.
