Hey all, I have an interview coming up for a Senior Consultant role at IBM. It's in their Cybersecurity practice. I've prepped my STAR method answers, but I'm still feeling a bit nervous. Anyone have any recent interview experiences with IBM, especially for consulting roles? Any tips on what they're really looking for? Technical skills aside, what are the key qualities they value? Any advice on salary negotiation too, if I get that far? Thanks in advance!

Hey, good luck! For IBM consulting, beyond technical skills, they really value teamwork and problem-solving. Be prepared to talk about how you've collaborated effectively in past roles, especially under pressure. They also like to see initiative and a willingness to learn new things. For salary, research the average for similar roles in your location *before* you go in. Glassdoor and Levels.fyi are your friends. Don't be afraid to counter their initial offer, but be polite and professional.

IBM? Honestly, be prepared for a bureaucratic environment. They'll want to hear about your ability to navigate complex organizations and get things done despite the red tape. They also love buzzwords, so sprinkle in some 'digital transformation' and 'cloud enablement' if you can. Salary negotiation can be tough, they're a big company, so don't expect miracles. But definitely know your worth and be confident. And if you get the offer, really think about if that kind of large corporate structure is a fit for you long-term.
