Is anyone else being asked to do more with less, constantly?

Lately, it feels like every project I'm on, there's a constant push to squeeze more out of the existing team. Deadlines are getting tighter, scope creeps are barely being addressed, and the expectation is just to 'make it happen.' We're seeing a lot of automation discussions, but it feels more like a buzzword than a real strategy to ease workloads. Instead, it feels like we're expected to manage the automation tools *on top of* our existing responsibilities. I've also noticed a slowdown in hiring for certain roles, even for critical positions. It's getting exhausting trying to keep up, and it makes me wonder if this is a precursor to larger staffing changes. Anyone else experiencing this 'do more with less' pressure cooker?

Absolutely. The pressure to deliver more with fewer resources is intense. It feels like the goalposts are always moving, and 'efficiency' often translates to simply overloading the existing staff. The automation talk sounds promising, but in practice, it seems to add another layer of complexity rather than providing genuine relief. It’s a challenging environment when you're constantly being asked to stretch thin.

I hear you. It's a familiar story across many companies right now. The expectation to achieve ambitious goals without proportional increases in budget or headcount creates a lot of strain. While automation is often touted as a solution, the reality can be that implementing and managing it becomes yet another task on an already full plate. It’s important to advocate for realistic resource allocation.
