Rocket Center cuts: Is anyone getting severance details?

Just got the email this morning. Been at the Rocket Center site for over six years, and I honestly didn't think I'd be on the list. The mood here is absolutely hollow. They keep parroting the 'streamlining' line, but everyone knows it's just about the bottom line and these forced shifts to new mandates that nobody asked for. Is anyone else in the same boat? I’m trying to figure out if the severance package they’re offering is standard for our tenure or if they’re trying to lowball us. I’ve reached out to a few people on my team who were also cut, and nobody seems to have a clear answer on the benefits extension. Also, if you’re still there, watch your back. The way management handled the notification process—basically a ghosting session followed by an automated invite—was cowardly at best. If you haven't received anything yet, don't assume you're safe. Keep your files backed up and get your personal info off the company drives while you still have access. It's done, but I’m curious to see how many of us were actually impacted today.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I was at the Rocket Center for nearly a decade before I got the axe last year. The 'streamlining' line is just corporate speak to make them feel better about gutting the talent. Don’t sign anything immediately. Take the documents to an employment lawyer if you can, because they almost always try to offer the bare minimum first. Check the internal forums or reach out to former colleagues who left in previous rounds to compare terms. Hang in there; it’s a rough transition, but there is life after Big Blue.

It is honestly disgusting how they keep pushing those useless new mandates while trimming the people who actually know how to keep the systems running. I saw the same thing happen at my site; they clear out the experienced staff to make the quarterly numbers look pretty for shareholders, completely ignoring the long-term institutional knowledge loss. Everyone knows the severance is a joke, but make sure you verify the calculation for your tenure. They are definitely banking on people being too shell-shocked to push back. Look into your local labor laws before you put pen to paper.
