Another round in Santa Clara: 103 people gone today

Just saw the WARN filing update. 103 more people at the Santa Clara campus got the invite to a 'brief meeting' this morning. It’s relentless. At this point, I don't even think the leadership knows what the end state looks like, they’re just trimming the headcount to make the quarterly numbers look slightly less abysmal. If you are still there, keep your resume updated and stop putting in the 60-hour weeks. No one is safe, and 'performance' is just a variable they tweak to justify the next round of cuts. It’s hard to focus on shipping anything when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if you’re next on the spreadsheet.

It is honestly exhausting to watch this happen repeatedly. Every time there is a new wave, the messaging stays the same, yet the results never seem to change. Management acts like these cuts are strategic, but it feels more like they are just bleeding talent to survive another quarter. If you are reading this and still holding onto hope that loyalty will save your position, please wake up. Use your remaining time to network outside the company and disconnect from the grind. They have made it clear that you are just a line item on a spreadsheet, not a person.

That sounds about right. At this point, the corporate culture has shifted from innovation to pure survival mode, and it is a toxic environment to work in. It is incredibly demoralizing to watch talented colleagues get forced out while the people making these disastrous long-term decisions remain untouched. Do yourself a favor and do not buy into the 'we are a family' narrative. Protect your own interests, stop burning yourself out for a company that does not value your contribution, and get your exit strategy ready before you are the one receiving that calendar invite.
