Anyone else feel like a sitting duck right now?

I'm in the validation team, been here almost 8 years. I've seen smaller RIFs happen, but the overall vibe lately is just…off. My skip-level keeps pushing this 'efficiency' mantra, and my manager is suddenly asking for detailed reports on everything I do. It feels like they're building a case to justify cuts. Honestly, I love my job, but I'm starting to dust off my resume. Anyone else feeling this way in their org? Or am I just being paranoid?

I hear you. I'm in a different division, but experiencing the same 'efficiency' push. Constant scrutiny, lots of talk about 'streamlining'. It's unsettling, especially after the last earnings call. I'd definitely keep your resume updated, just in case. Better to be prepared than caught off guard. Good luck!

Honestly, that sounds like standard corporate behavior. Managers always want to justify their existence with reports, and 'efficiency' is the buzzword of the quarter. Eight years is a decent run, so you're probably just more sensitive to the shifts. Unless you have concrete reasons to worry (missed goals, poor performance reviews), I wouldn't panic *too* much. But a little dusting-off never hurts.
