Best skills to highlight on resume after Intel? (Backend Validation)

Alright, been at Intel for 7 years, mainly doing backend validation work (pre-silicon mostly). Honestly, starting to think about dusting off the resume, but trying to figure out what's hot right now *outside* of the company. Any advice on what skills I should really emphasize when applying elsewhere? I've got a solid background in RTL, verification methodologies (UVM, formal), and scripting (Python, Perl). Should I be focusing more on cloud computing skills or maybe specializing in a particular architecture (ARM, RISC-V)? Any pointers from people who've made the jump (especially from validation) would be greatly appreciated. Trying to future-proof myself a bit here...

Honestly, with your background, I wouldn't chase cloud just to chase it. Your RTL and verification experience is valuable! I'd highlight your UVM and formal verification expertise. Companies are always looking for strong verification engineers, especially with that pre-silicon experience. Quantify your accomplishments – "Reduced bug escape rate by X% using UVM methodology" – that kind of thing. Focus on companies building custom silicon or doing complex hardware verification, not necessarily cloud providers.

Seven years at Intel doing backend validation is nothing to sneeze at! While cloud is definitely a buzzword, don't dilute your resume trying to shoehorn it in. Your strength is clearly hardware verification. Instead of a broad 'scripting' bullet point, call out specific tools or flows you automated and *what* the results were. For example, "Automated regression testing using Python, reducing runtime by 50%". That's much more compelling than a generic skill listing. Don't undervalue your experience!
