RTO policy and layoffs - a bad combo?

Reading about the recent layoffs and remembering that article about the former employee suing over the RTO policy and disability. Makes me wonder how much of this is tied to company policies versus just pure business needs. We've seen a lot of churn, and the pressure to return to office seems to be increasing in parallel. Is anyone else feeling like these layoffs are partly a consequence of trying to force people back into old ways of working? Feels like a really rough way to manage a workforce, especially when you're also cutting heads. Seems like a high-risk strategy. Anyone experiencing similar disconnects between policy and workforce reality?

It's definitely a concerning pattern. The RTO push and the subsequent layoffs feel like they could be connected, especially given the previous legal challenges. It raises questions about whether the company is truly prioritizing its employees' well-being and adaptability or just reverting to outdated management styles. The lack of clear communication and the perceived inconsistency in decision-making only add to the anxiety many are feeling about their job security and the overall direction of the company.
