Anyone else feel blindsided by the recent layoffs?

Hey everyone, just saw the news about the layoffs at Intuit on 7/16. Apparently it was around X employees. I'm still trying to process it. Was there any warning? I honestly thought things were stable, especially with all the talk about growth and new initiatives. Felt like it came out of nowhere for a lot of us, or at least for me. Did anyone see this coming? Were there any hints or whispers in the last few weeks that I might have missed? Trying to understand the strategy behind this, especially since it seems like they're still hiring in some areas. Just feeling a bit lost and wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and wants to share what they're going through or what they've heard.

That's incredibly tough to hear. Layoffs are always jarring, and when it feels unexpected, it adds a whole other layer of difficulty. It's understandable to feel blindsided and to question the strategy behind it. Hopefully, those affected will land on their feet quickly with their next opportunities. It's a good reminder to always keep your network active, regardless of how stable things might seem.

I'm really sorry you and your colleagues are going through this. It's frustrating when company communications seem to suggest one thing (growth, initiatives) and then actions like layoffs happen without much prior indication. It can shake your confidence in leadership and the company's direction. Sending good thoughts to everyone impacted and hoping for transparency about what led to this.
