Anyone else feeling blindsided by the latest Intuit cuts?

Just saw the news about the layoffs. Honestly, I'm still trying to process it. The official numbers seem to be around 1800, but it feels like more might be affected given the 'underperformer' label. My team wasn't directly hit, but the general vibe in the company chat is definitely one of unease. Lots of speculation about what 'refocusing on AI' actually means for the remaining roles. Are we all going to be expected to become AI experts overnight? Or is this just the start of more cuts down the line? The "1800 out, 1800 in" narrative is especially confusing. Are they truly hiring that many new people, or is it just a reshuffle? Feels like a lot of talent is walking out the door, and I'm not sure bringing in new blood is the magic bullet. Wondering if anyone else is in a similar boat, trying to make sense of it all.

Yeah, it's a shock. While my department wasn't directly impacted this round, the uncertainty is palpable.
